Parents,
The Chesapeake Bay Cheerleading Organization is a recreational league that was created to teach our children the basics of sideline and competitive cheerleading. I've included some of the basic information for parents below.
-
Cheerleaders are eligible if their date of birth is between 9/1/95 and 9/1/06. Ages 4 to 14.
-
Teams will be formed by age groups. Typically we have a 6 & under, 8 & under, 10 & under, 12 & under, and 14 & under squad. The teams will be determined based on the number of participants in each category.
-
Cheerleaders are expected to be at practices twice a week for at least 90 minutes. However, some of the younger groups may only practice 60 minutes.
-
Cheerleaders are expected to cheer for at least one football game a weekend. Some games are at our home field and others will be played in Anne Arundel County. Games begin in late August and run through Mid- November for play offs and championship games.
-
Practices will be held at Batt's Neck Park starting the first week of August until Mid-September. We will then move teams to school gyms for indoor practices.
-
All cheerleaders are required to purchase cheer shoes, crop tops, briefs, and a cheer bow to go with their CB uniform. (More information to come).
-
We are planning on participating in 1 "Rec" level competition this year. There is the possibility of a second competition being added. The date will be published in September.
-
The $100.00 registration fee helps defray the cost of additional uniforms, gym space, and competition fees.
-
We are in desperate need for Head Coaches at all levels that are over 18 years of age. All "Cheer Moms and Team Moms" are encouraged to step up and volunteer. I have quite a few Kent Island High School Cheerleaders that are eager to help coach our girls and teach them many new things, we just need some adults to help out.
